To LFB: I’m afraid getting anything in, other than in bags carried by people who can get in (and I don’t know many) is pretty impossible. I can pass on financial donations, but that’s pretty much it. You are right, the majority here any of us can buy is tunnel goods. Some of the fruit however is “seconds” unwanted by the Israeli market that the government sells to here (gives a new meaning to the term “captive market” doesn’t it).

I greatly appreciate your contacting Farmers Weekly and RASE, let’s see what they say! Also, ISM folks are currently building a “Fishing under fire” website which can be the foundation for fishing support campaign, does fishing get covered by Agricultural Groups? I guess maybe not. Anyway, I will post to the blog with the address when it’s ready for the public.

Just read on the BBC News website an article about soldiers’ testimonies just being published about some of the atrocities they committed, about the kinds of orders that came from their commanders that were in effect cold-blooded murder.

For your farmers, I’ve appealed to the Farmers’ Weekly, and also to RASE – both to send support and also to highlight the threat to farmers, and the loss of their livelihood. I’ll let you know what happens.
How will it be possible for anything that is given to enter the country? it sounds as if the restrictions at the borders would not allow anything to come in. How do you, for instance, buy things for the families you help? is it all ‘tunnel goods’ ?
